1. Turn off the power to the fan at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

2. Remove the canopy from the ceiling. The canopy is usually held in place by a few screws. Once the screws are removed, the canopy can be gently pulled down.

3. Locate the light switch. The light switch is typically located on the side of the fan's motor housing. It is usually a small, black or white switch.
