How To Fix Light Cord On Ceiling Fan

A ceiling fan is a great way to keep your home cool and comfortable during the summer months. However, if the light cord on your ceiling fan breaks, it can be a major inconvenience. Fortunately, fixing a light cord on a ceiling fan is a relatively easy task that can be completed in a few minutes.

Here are the steps on how to fix a light cord on a ceiling fan:

1. Turn off the power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker or fuse box.

2. Remove the light fixture from the ceiling fan. To do this, simply unscrew the screws that are holding the light fixture in place. Be careful not to drop the light fixture.

3. Disconnect the light cord from the light fixture. To do this, simply unscrew the wire nuts that are connecting the light cord to the light fixture. Be careful not to lose the wire nuts.

4. Cut the damaged section of the light cord off. To do this, simply use a wire cutter to cut the cord at the point where it is damaged.

5. Strip the insulation off the ends of the light cord. To do this, simply use a wire stripper to remove about 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the cord.

6. Twist the ends of the light cord together. Make sure that the ends of the cord are twisted together tightly.

7. Screw the wire nuts back onto the ends of the light cord. Make sure that the wire nuts are tightened securely.

8. Reinstall the light fixture on the ceiling fan. To do this, simply screw the light fixture back into place. Be careful not to overtighten the screws.

9. Turn the power back on to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
