Before beginning any electrical work, ensure the power supply is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Use a non-contact voltage tester to verify that the power is off before proceeding.

Gather Your Tools

You'll need the following tools:

Screwdriver (Phillips and flathead)
Adjustable wrench
Wire strippers
Electrical tape
Stepladder

Remove the Existing Fan

1. Carefully detach the light covers by squeezing the clips or unscrewing the holding screws.
2. Locate and unscrew the canopy, which covers the mounting bracket.
3. Support the fan with one hand while unscrewing the mounting screws.
4. Disconnect the electrical wires by twisting wire nuts counterclockwise and gently pulling the wires apart.
