How To Put A Light On The Ceiling

Safety First

Before starting, turn off the power to the ceiling light circuit at the breaker panel. This will prevent any electrical shocks or accidents.

Gather Your Tools and Materials

Ceiling light fixture
Screwdriver
Wire cutters
Electrical tape
Mounting screws or bolts
Ladder

Prepare the Light Fixture

Remove the old light fixture if there is one. Then, unpack the new light fixture and identify the wires. The wires will typically be color-coded: black for hot, white for neutral, and green or bare copper for ground.

Connect the Wires

Use wire cutters to strip about 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends of the wires. Twist the bare ends of the wires together and secure them with electrical tape.
