How to Remove Light from Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan

Harbor Breeze ceiling fans are a popular choice for homeowners looking for an affordable and stylish way to cool their homes. These fans are relatively easy to install and maintain, and many models come with a built-in light fixture.

If you need to remove the light from your Harbor Breeze ceiling fan, follow these steps:

Step 1: Turn off the power to the fan.

This is important for safety reasons. Locate the circuit breaker or fuse that controls the power to the fan and turn it off.

Step 2: Remove the glass shade.

Most Harbor Breeze ceiling fans have a glass shade that covers the light bulb. To remove the shade, simply unscrew the two screws that hold it in place.

Step 3: Remove the light bulb.

Once the shade is removed, you can access the light bulb. Unscrew the bulb and remove it from the socket.

Step 4: Disconnect the wires.

There will be two wires connected to the light fixture: a black wire and a white wire. Disconnect these wires by unscrewing the wire nuts that hold them together.

Step 5: Remove the light fixture.

Once the wires are disconnected, you can remove the light fixture from the ceiling fan. To do this, simply unscrew the screws that hold it in place.

Step 6: Reinstall the light fixture.

If you are replacing the light fixture with a new one, follow the steps above in reverse order to install it. Be sure to tighten all the screws securely.

Step 7: Turn on the power to the fan.

Once the light fixture is installed, turn on the power to the fan and test the light to make sure it is working properly.

Additional tips:
  • If you are having trouble removing the glass shade, you can try using a putty knife to gently pry it off.
  • Be careful not to overtighten the screws when you are installing the light fixture.
  • If you are not comfortable working with electricity, it is best to hire a qualified electrician to remove the light from your ceiling fan.
