How to Remove Receiver From Hunter Ceiling Fan

Removing the receiver from a Hunter ceiling fan is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few minutes. By following these steps, you can safely remove the receiver and get your fan back up and running in no time.

Materials You'll Need

Phillips head screwdriver
Putty knife

Step-by-Step Instructions

Turn off the power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
Remove the canopy cover. The canopy cover is located in the center of the ceiling fan and conceals the receiver. Use a putty knife to gently pry off the canopy cover.
Disconnect the wires from the receiver. There will be two or three wires connected to the receiver. Use wire cutters to cut the wires, leaving about 6 inches of wire remaining.
