How To Rewire A Ceiling Fan

Rewiring a ceiling fan is a relatively simple task that can be completed in a few hours. However, it is important to follow the instructions carefully to ensure that the fan is wired correctly and safely.

The first step is to turn off the power to the fan at the circuit breaker. Then, remove the fan blades and the light fixture. Next, disconnect the wires from the motor. There will be two wires for the power supply and two wires for the fan speed control.

Once the wires are disconnected, you can remove the motor from the ceiling. To do this, simply unscrew the mounting bolts. Once the motor is removed, you can rewire it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Once the motor is rewired, you can reinstall it in the ceiling. Be sure to tighten the mounting bolts securely.

Next, reconnect the wires to the motor. The power supply wires should be connected to the terminals marked "L" and "N". The fan speed control wires should be connected to the terminals marked "H" and "M".

Once the wires are connected, you can reinstall the light fixture and the fan blades. Finally, turn on the power to the fan at the circuit breaker and test it to make sure it is working properly.
