Tools And Materials

Before you begin, gather the following tools and materials:

New ceiling light fixture
New switch
Wire strippers
Screwdriver
Electrical tape

Safety First

Before you start any electrical work, it is important to turn off the power to the circuit that you will be working on. This can be done by flipping the breaker or removing the fuse for that circuit. Once the power is off, you can begin the installation process.

Installing The Light Fixture

The first step is to remove the old light fixture. To do this, simply unscrew the mounting screws and carefully lower the fixture from the ceiling. Once the old fixture is removed, you can begin installing the new one.

Start by attaching the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the provided screws. Then, connect the wires from the new fixture to the wires in the ceiling using wire nuts. Be sure to match the white wires together, the black wires together, and the green or bare wires together.

Once the wires are connected, tuck them neatly into the junction box and secure the new fixture to the mounting bracket. Finally, turn the power back on and test the new light fixture.

Installing The Switch

Once the wires are connected, tuck them neatly into the electrical box and secure the new switch in place. Finally, install the faceplate and turn the power back on to test the new switch.
